Volkswagen Type 122 1192cc Autogas/LPG Industrial Engine (1968)

REDUCED! SUMMER BARGAIN!

An unusual and rare example of a complete of an industrial Volkswagen engine built into a self contained frame and driving a Markon Self Regulating Alternator, built in Oakland, Rutland in the UK - the firm of Markon Engineering was purchased by and absorbed into Newage International in the late 1980s.

Manufactured by VW from 1950 until 1991, these air-cooled power units had many industrial uses, this rig uses a Type 122 (1192cc) single port unit built in 1968. The Magneto and governor are all in place, the engine does not run on petrol, but instead uses a Tararini Autogas/LPG arrangement.

The engine (number 122-170960) can be turned over by hand (we do not have the appropriate crank starter handle, there is no starter motor on these units) and have made no attempt to run it. The rig remains in 'as found' condition and has clearly been repainted blue at some point in its past life!.

The engine would require basic recommissioning and the electrical apparatus although complete in appearance, would need to be examined/PAT tested by a suitably qualified electrician.

There is no warranty offered on this item.
